Hello and welcome!

This is the very first post on our blog, dedicated to helping the people of Rajasthan understand everything about marriage certificates – what they are, why they matter, and how you can get one easily.

What is a Marriage Certificate?

A marriage certificate is an official document issued by the government that legally proves that two people are married. It’s recognized across India and can be used for various legal, financial, and personal purposes.

Why is a Marriage Certificate Important?

Many people think that a marriage certificate is optional or just a formality. But in reality, it is a very important legal document, and here's why:

  • Required for applying for passports and visas

  • Useful when applying for joint bank accounts, loans, or government schemes

  • Helps in claiming insurance, pensions, or inheritance

  • Acts as legal proof of marriage in case of disputes or separation

  • Essential for adding spouse's name in official records

Who Should Get It?

Everyone who is legally married – whether through a traditional ceremony, court marriage, love marriage, or inter-caste/inter-religion marriage – should get a marriage certificate.
